Healing and Repair showcases new works by local emerging artists, each selected for their process driven practice, and prompted by the exhibition’s title themes. Art making in response to trauma offers a self-soothing procedure to facilitate transformation and transcendence; the artist’s process becoming a way of remembering, reconfiguring and reframing. Healing and Repair shares with audiences the products of these processes, and in addition to works, visual diaries are on show, providing an insight into each artist’s practice.

Artists have interpreted the broad themes of the exhibition in intuitive ways. While some explored personal ruptures to the flow of life, others referenced collective traumas, such as Covid-19 and pollution. Each work offers an individual perspective, creating a discourse of ideas culminated in immersive installation.
