Jacinda Bayne

Fremantle base artist Jacinda Bayne has a long and close association with the landscape. By extending her innate connection with nature, the painter rekindles memories and feelings evoked by the natural landscape. These seemingly ambiguous landscapes are a cognitive representation of her identity. Heavily featuring bodies of water and reflections these vibrant, yet subtle surfaces are the result of a process unique to the artist's technique. The building up and removal of numerous layers of thin glazes of rich pigment delivers a luminous quality to the surface. The colour choice is both soothing and invigorating, combined with a sense of scale enabling the viewer to be immersed and transported to new places.
