Interconnected

Curated by Julia Amstrong

Anfisa presents 'Interconnected', a curated ceramic art exhibition that explores the relationship of art, craft, and design, while pushing the boundaries of ceramic craftsmanship.

Curated by Julia Armstrong, the exhibition will take place in our recently renovated Upstairs Gallery, offering a captivating exploration of contemporary ceramics through the works of 17 artists across Australia.

Each carefully selected artist has been commissioned to present a relationship between two distinct bodies of work within the same medium - a functional sculpture and a complementary wall piece that connect and converse. They have been given full freedom of conveyed message, form, colour and technique. The showcased works are bound only by the requirement that they effortlessly integrate into everyday life, while authentically embodying each artist's unique voice.

'Interconnected' will showcase works by:

Anfisa curatorial platform was established in 2022 in Western Australia by Julia Armstrong. The platform celebrates Australian emerging and established artists in functional art and in particular, contemporary ceramics.

Anfisa collections explore sculptural functionality and seek to facilitate equilibrium between the interior aesthetic and an object.

Anfisa is committed to fostering a network of artists that push the boundaries of ceramic craft, exploring the form, functionality and philosophy behind each collection.

Exhibition will be open from Tuesday 17th to Sunday 22nd October 2023 from 10am to 4pm.
