Tessa McOnie's latest body of work marks the third pillar in her professional artist career.
These compelling oil portraitures of Indigenous Australians have stemmed from her close relationship with the remote community of Mowanjum. Tessa's latest body of work dives beyond the surface of portraiture and into the realms of empathic realism, where profound connections can form between the viewer and portrait. "It is through these connections with art that we begin to question and understand with empathy."
