Cool Change Contemporary x PS Art Space

We have been working on a new partnership with Cool Change Contemporary since last year and are very excited to finally launch this new program for 2024 starting next month.

Cool Change (est. 2018) is an artist-run initiative based in Boorloo / Perth. Since their inception, they have hosted exhibitions, artist residences, performances, workshops, talks, and operated a small shop. Volunteer-led and not-for-profit, the organisation is committed to presenting experimental and critically engaged artistic practice in a welcoming and accessible environment with an agile and responsive outlook. The CC Bon Marche (2018-2022) archive can be accessed here.

As a collective, Cool Change is driven by a resourceful and responsible approach to space and site, which does not take for granted the opportunity to operate on the unceded lands of Whadjuk Noongar people, and recognising our place as settler artists and workers on this land.

The program will inhabit the PS upstairs gallery at between May and December 2024.

'Gallery 1' is the larger of two spaces, and as such, will feature curatorial projects, self-organised group exhibitions and solo projects that make confident use of the larger space.

'Gallery 2' will host Lateral Shelf, a new initiative from Cool Change that focuses on video, reading materials, performance, along with various forms of speaking and writing.

This program encompasses a wide variety of materials, techniques and experiments from emerging artists, projects and collectives. We are thrilled to be able to present such an ambitious and engaging program as our first return to sustained exhibition programming in quite some time.
